Welcome to NOOG

NOOG is an organic gardening group based in Chipping Norton in North Oxfordshire.

It was formed in 1992 by a group of local gardeners who wanted to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and to demonstrate that organic gardening is a viable alternative. Our membership is made up of novice and experienced, amateur and professional gardeners, all with an interest in gardening and growing food without chemicals.

We are affiliated to, and act as a local group for Garden Organic (formerly The Henry Doubleday Research Association), who have a demonstration garden at Ryton near Coventry.

We meet on the 1st Wednesday evening of each month. From September to April (except January) in St Mary’s Parish Rooms, Church Street, Chipping Norton OX7 5NT, for talks from a range of speakers on gardening and wildlife topics, or a discussion on a gardening topic led by one of our members. From May to August we visit local organic gardens or allotments, to gain inspiration and tips.

Members receive a quarterly newsletter with details of forthcoming events, and write-ups of past meetings.
